Good location close to centre and bus stop. Clean accommodation, restaurant serves dinner.
Location is good. Rooms were not clean in terms of dust on furniture and bedsheets had some smell. Need improvement
Unfortunately not what I expected! I think that a place in Devonport, five minutes from the spirit of Tasmania dock should have higher standards and better quality. Food was cheap... Not a good intro/goodbye to an otherwise excellent Tassie food experience. Missed opportunity in my opinion.
The Formby is one of the most cost effective backpacker hostels in Devonport. The staff are amicable and always enquire if you are enjoying your stay. The rooms are cleaned daily and have fresh towels. The common room has a great little kitchen and the view of the port is exceptional. You can watch the Spirit of Tasmania regularly enter and leave port. The Formby is also close to the mall, cinema, visitor center and other ammenities. I will definitely be staying there when I visit Tasmania again.
stayed in 2 bunk beds room.Pro: convenient location, car park included (although when I arrived, all the spots were taken, so I just had to parked on the street; road side parking is free after 6pm), surprisingly clean shared toilet ( with clean floor mat provided), even a small table and sink was provided in the 2 bedroom bunk bed room; also have a share kitchen, laundry area; toilet provided for guest. Friendly stuff and easy check in.Point of improvement: shower is a bit small for changing (a bit of juggle, especially when there is only one tinny hanger)
